Autism news: What OCD looks like and how to deal with it
October 22, 2021
Dear Friends,

We’ve dealt with a lot of OCD in our house, and I can tell you, it can be quite a challenge, depending on how severe the case.

It’s important to be aware of OCD since it’s so common among children with autism.

So, what is OCD? The best way I can describe it is this: it’s an obsession to “cover all the bases.”

For example, someone who is obsessed with avoiding germs may want to cover all the bases by washing his hands all the time. He wants to make sure there are absolutely no germs on his hands.

To help you see what I mean, I’ll leave you a link to a video of a three-year-old with OCD. You’ll see what he was obsessed with in this situation and what Mom did to help him overcome it. Just check out the link at the end of this message.

Warm Regards,

Kay Donato
