Autism news: How to Deal With Fixations
December 18, 2018

Does your child have a special interest that she follows intensely? That can often end up as a good thing, but what if it interferes with daily living and other needs in the family? What if Johnny is so obsessed with math stats that he doesn't want to leave the house and won't talk to anyone else?

Here's when we as parents and caregivers need to know how much to allow our kids to fixate on their interests and when to set limits.

I've just posted a new two-part article where I discuss what to do when our kids have what is often called hyperfocus. You can check it out by clicking the link at the end of this email.

Warm Regards,

Kay Donato
