Autism news: A rare inside look from the world of Sensory Processing Disorder (common with autism)
June 17, 2020
Hello!

It’s no secret that many children with autism also have Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), a condition that can greatly interfere with a child’s ability to function.

Karen Thomas, a specialist who also has a child with autism, says that SPD can even cause negative behaviors through no fault of their own.

Some time ago, I posted an article about SPD to help raise awareness among parents as well as teachers.

It includes a video showing a rare, inside look at what the world is like for someone who suffers from SPD. With the help of her family, a young girl with autism named Carly Fleischmann decided to make a video to help raise awareness.

I can remember when my son was very young, I used to wish I could see what the world was like from his perspective.

Now we have one of those rare chances.

I encourage you to take a look at the link at the end of this message. Because we can only seek help for our kids if we are aware of their needs.

Warm Regards,

Kay Donato
